The shortest route between a truth and a person is a story.
Growing up in a family of story tellers was a treat. Grandmother could keep us sitting on the edge of our seats, Tante Anna had us laughing uproariously, and my mother wove pathos and detail into her personal life stories. On a Sunday afternoon their friends would gather in my mother’s home, and in the lively conversations that ensued, many dramas unfolded.
This was music to my ears. Wanting to preserve some of these stories, I began to write and to publish. I’ve also written about my own life experiences. Writing helps me to validate an experience, to clarify my vision, and to form firm objectives. And in all my stories and articles, I want to pass on the blessing of tracing God’s involvement in the ordinary events of our lives.
I have five grown children and five beautiful grandchildren living on three continents. This makes for delightful visits to interesting places in Canada, Africa, and Australia.
